From the radio to your dance floor.

DJ Congo — born Kyle Congo — found the booth at 10 or 11, tagging along with his mom to work at the Rose Hill Boys and Girls Club. Too young for the teen parties, he'd sit in the DJ booth — crates and two Technics turntables, no Serato yet — and soak it in. By 15, he was at the Elsmere Skating Center, working under DJ Bran (later Meek Mill's tour DJ) and DJ Big Ant. Bran held the DJ position — his dad ran the rink — and young Kyle learned from the men running the room, later bringing his own decks.

Back home, he and his neighborhood friends were always throwing parties — so they made it official: Team Wipeout. They'd travel to colleges and different towns doing market research, then bring the formula back to Club 200 — discovered by his older cousin, who gave them the plug. They founded their night there, his mother worked the door — counting the money by hand, and it took hours — and they packed upwards of 700 people into the room: Philly, Jersey, Maryland, and all of Delaware coming to Club 200. $20,000 from the door alone, no liquor. Some of the biggest events the tri-state has ever seen, a record that stands to this day.

His younger brother Christopher had the next idea: take their talent to the University of Delaware. They did — landing on WVUD, where their “Top 40 at 4” became a smash hit across campus. From there, Bran — on Kiss 101.7 every day at 6pm — pulled them both into commercial radio, a station stacked with Wilmington DJ royalty: Shorty T, the Yoda of Wilmington DJs, DJ Rated R — the legend, Mr. Machete Hands — Big Ant, and Mellie Mel and Rob Jay, two great hosts, among them. During those years, a stint in North Wilmington put Chune at the Green Room, in Shorty T's orbit — another master, another room, another education.

He worked so hard to get there. So when Kiss 101.7 signed off in April 2015, it crushed him. But the year they closed is the year Chune FM was born — his own worldwide radio station syndicate, born in Wilmington, Delaware and expanding to the world. Where Radio Meets the Room | Chune FM.

Over a decade later, Chune FM is on air 24/7, and DJ Congo brings that radio-honed instinct to dance floors across the East Coast — weddings, club nights, and private events. Radio taught him to read a room he couldn't see. Now he reads it in person, and the floor stays full.
